GLOBAL PARTNERSHIPS IN TRAINING SECTOR

GREEN EXPERT PLATFORM

The Green Expert Platform organised by Grodan brings cultivation specialists from all over the World together at two meetings a year. These enable them to exchange knowledge and experience, and to zoom in on current themes and important developments. The objective of these meetings is to promote the further optimization of cultivation methods and results.

DKG GROUP cooperates with GRODAN as Founding Member of the worldwide advisors network on Greenhouse Management and Hydroponics named GEP (Green Expert Platform).

Grodan passionate about Precision Growing

More and more consumers opt for sustainably cultivated vegetables. Healthy and tasty products which are good for both people and the environment. This requires Precision Growing: a method of cultivation in which water, nutrients, crop protection products, energy and space are used efficiently. Grodan offers a wide range of stone wool substrates for such sustainable crops, substrates which are produced and recycled in a sustainable manner. In short, products which contribute to a healthy living environment, now and in the future.

Minimum input, maximum output Grodan’s substrate solutions are ideal for Precision Growing. This ensures that maximum results are achieved with minimum resources. Water consumption is considerably less in stone wool-based cultivation than in cultivation on other culture media. The substrate does not need to be rinsed at the beginning of the growing season and all water and nutrients remain available for use by the crop because stone wool does not absorb this. This optimises the controllability of the crop. The Stone wool substrate is ideal for “closed cultivation systems”, wherein water is re-circulated and reused.

Grodan’s substrates are free of diseases, weed seeds and residues of disinfectants. This guarantees a clean start to the growing season and promotes the growth of healthy crops requiring fewer pesticides or other crop protection products. Next to this, cultivation on stone wool substrates results in low energy consumption and CO2 emissions per kilogram of the product and a higher yield per square meter.
